I am going to Puerto Plata on November 13th 04' and want to get in some surfing. I am staying at the Gran Ventana. Is there any rental shops in the area or should I bring my board? Any info would be HUGELY appreciated! Thanks

I'm a rookie and have only been there surfing once but el encuentro is well known. check out the wannasurf web site. I'm heading there nov 15th. there's a surf school there where you can rent boards and they also have a web page to find out more info but I forget the name of it but it's something like 321takeoff or liftoff

I'm staying at the Grand Flamenco in Puerta Plata....I hope theres really close surf spots!
