Motorbikes with board racks?

« on: January 12 2005 05:01:00 »

I'm off to Sousa in Feb, and have read that hiring a motorbike is about the best way of getting around. In Bali it was possible to hire a bike with two U shaped foam covered board racks attached. Does anyone know if it is possible to hire similar things in Cabarete? If not, am I likely to be pulled over by the police if I just sling the board over my shoulder? Any help will be much appreciated.

There are some people that have the bikes with Racks, but they are definetly not as common here in the DR than they are in Indo.
Probably easiest to just keep your board under your arm. Police will not have too much of a problem with that. In Sosua be sure to wear a helmet though when driving, the police is pretty strict on that there, (no need for it when you stay in Cabarete)

See you in the water.
