Hotels in DR

i'm heading to the DR in february. I'm going with my girl so i'm looking for a decent hotel. It doesn't have to be top of the line but i'm not looking to rough it either.

I don't want to rent a car so i'm looking for an all inclusive hotel sort of thin within walking distance of the beach with a surfable wave.

Cabarete area is possibly the best area, but i'm open o other suggestions.

Thanks

RE: Hotels in DR

Encuentro (Cabarete) is definitely one of the best spots in the DR and there are only 3 options on walking distance to the spot. For the rest you have to take a motoconcho. We live close to the spot, so if you need any info, just send me an e-mail.

Have a good trip,
Chantal

RE: Hotels in DR

Hi Gilles,

There are 3 hotels located on Encuentro.
- Coconut Palms hotel where you will find a lot of "older' people from the States and Canada and it's a little further away from the beach. They have a shuttle service to the beach I think.

- Hide away beach; Nice upscaled hotel. Good location on the surfspot but really expensive also. You can find the prices on there website.

- Hooked Cabarete; To be clear I am the owner of Hooked Cabarete; Hooked Cabarete is a small scaled accommodation on Encuentro. We are in walking distance from the break (3 minute walk) ,with mainly young active people staying. See our website for all the info and photo's.
