Me too, I exited the water where most local went and I stepped on one...so i don't know...

dude there are no magic places for entering and exiting the water to avoid urchins. Urchins and carried by the currents and tides and can be anywhere. Deff only enter where the channel is. stand on the dry reef and when a wave comes in jump right out to see and let the ebb carry to the lineup. when you paddle in, find another little channel or any place where you can almost step directly onto dry reef. there is unlikely to be urchins on dry reef, and if there are you can see them. dont step in the water where you cant see or wear booties to avoid urchin spines
