North Coast in November??« on: August 20 2005 05:08:00 »
I'm going out to one of these fancy all inc. resorts for a family wedding for two weeks at the end of November and with lots of time to kill I'm wondering if it's worth taking my board?
I'm beginner/intermediate level, prefering beachbreaks and will be the only surfer in the group :(
Any tips/advice, etc would be great!

I'm also going in Nov. staying at the Iberostar, how far is that from any good breaks? I've been going to PR the last 15 years and need a change. Do I need a rental car or should I just take Taxis early in the am?

It is in playa dorado an all inclusive resort with good ratings it is slightly to the west os Sosua beach , anybody have thoughts on car rentals or is it better just taking taxis?
Located directly on the long, sandy beach of Costa Dorada. Approx. 5 minutes´ drive from Puerto Plata, approx. 3 minutes from Playa Dorada.

Its somewhere on the Playa Dorada. The Royale Tropicale?? (Or something like that??)
Is there any sort of public transport and how easy is it getting boards around if you're not driving?

I am staying at the IBEROSTAR resort and would like to meet up with you. I'm going with my family been surfing PR for the last 15 years. I hear taxis are the way to go because if you get into any kind of accident your spending the night behind bars. We will be arriving on the 9th and staying for 6 days until the 15th, have you ever surfed DR before?

I'm not sure of the exact name. I'm from England and we'll be there from the 14th - 27th November.
I've only been surfing a year and a half which is why I'd prefer a beach break as I don't have the experience or confidence to tackle reefs yet, especially as I'll be on my own.
