surfing in jan-feb. on the north coast of DR

« on: December 01 2008 19:12:00 »

How are the waves in the winter around cabarete? Are they pretty constant? I also want to know how is the weather around that time and if I should bring a shorty or just a rash guard. I rented a Place on kite beach, how close are the surfing spots? Thanks  Annie

It's the most consistent time of the year to be surfing in the DR.
Encuentro is 5 minutes down the road from kitebeach.

I hope you didn't book yourself into the Extreme hotel in Cabarete, place is a dump

Hi. We're planning a trip in jan and feb as well. Was wondering if there any places to surf when it is blowing 20mph like its predicted right now. It seems to blow directly onshore.
