RE: indications to encuentro plz

Take a taxi and tell them you want to go to Encuentro, 10 minute taxi ride, should cost around 300 pesos or 10 dollars, everyone in cabarete or Sosua knows where Encuentro is.

Alternatively take a moto taxi, for half the price, but 100 x the chance of ending up in the hospital.

RE: indications to encuentro plz

If that Hotel is pretty much in the centre of Sosua, which i think it is, then it's definitely a lot further from Encuentro than 1,2 miles, probably more like 6 miles. And walking along the main road will take you 1,5 hours, and lots of car fumes

RE: indications to encuentro plz

Sosua is not really a dangerous place to surf, problem is only 2 x per year it breaks on huge north swells, and then there is indeed a bit of current and big urchins underneath.

As far as taxi cost is concerned, yes there is a cheaper way:
Gua Gua, local public busses / mini van, cost about 2 dollars one way, but they take longer, and might be a porblem with a surfboard,. although they cramp lots of people and things in there.

That's why:
How many people can they put in a Gua Gua?

Always 1 more.
I have seen 26 people cramped in a 7-8 people mini van
