surf in DR in December..

ola all, off to DR for first time Decemer 12th-19th staying at AI Bacelo punta gelata Hotel in cabaret on north coast, anyone know what the surf will be like and recommend some great surf spots that will reach bout 3 foot? And please tell me it will be hot and not raining and i will only need a rash vest and boardies!! thankyou :-) x

The surf beach is Encuentro about 5 minutes away from where you are staying in Cabarete.
Yes it will be warm, yes the average wave size will be 3', yes you'll only need a rashvest, and yes MOST days it will be dry.

do u know if in cabarete there are lots of surf board hire shops? or even nice cheap boards to purchase to take back home?! my poor board had all its fins snapped off being in the areopleane and is gonna cost so much to repair over where i live!

Plenty of boardshops, for hire, or buy a new or have one handshaped for 370 Dollars

Yah, you can rent a board at encuentro from Renee, he's got a good selection. The waves should be good in January, waist-chest-head most days, usually the wind is right from dawn until 11 a.m.,  then go drink some Presidentes, then go back for the evening glass.
