Best place to stay - close to surf

« on: October 12 2005 13:10:00 »

I am thinking of travelling from Canada to DR in late Nov. I am wondering where the best all- inclisive resort to stay at that is close to surfing? Thanx...

Hey Gavin,

From what I've been reading the best surf out there in the DR is up north near Puerto plata.  Where were you planning to stay?

Hey Mike, That's what I am trying to figure out. We are pretty flexible. But I think we are leaning towards an All Inclusive as my wife is pregnant and I want to spend a lot of time in the water. So I am hoping to find an A.I close to a good break.

Any suggestions?

Barcelo is closest to the breaks, Azzurro also, but i wouldn't stay at tht one. Another one is Breeze fairly close to the surf, but further out of Cabarete. There's another hotel, right at Encunetro, I think it's called Hideaway beach resort or something like that, that one is definetly the nearest

Hey Gavin,  I had a couple of friends stay at Puerto Plata and she just took a cab and got some lessons there.  If your looking for a nice white sandy beach for your wife Puerto Plata is not the place for sure.
