Where to stay Cabarette or Sousa?« on: October 10 2009 20:10:00 »
Going with my girl to DR in November.
Defenitely want to eplore the island, but not sure where to stay, Cabarette or Sousa? Have to basically choose between Hotel Sosua by the Sea or Tropical Casa Laguna beach in Cabarette (becaus of price of all-in deal, flight/app.)
Would prefer a consistent break in front/close to Hotel.
(All the other spots I will check with day trips).
Seems like Sousa is more consistent and Cabarette more Chill to hang out? Let me know, tnx..

I`d say stay in Sosua, but Cabarete is closer to the surf spots if you mind driving 5 minutes. However, lodging could be better in Sosua, I rented a Sosua villa to have more privacy instead. A guy named Edward Rivas handles a lot of rentals in the area, can`t say the web for his agency because of the filters - Google him for Golden Key Villas Sosua.
There are many, many options when it comes to lodging in the area, if you`re on a tight budget you`ll make it anyway. The guy at goldenkeymanagement always helps no mater what, really cool.

if you like sleeze, hookers and filthy german sex tourists, combined with very inconsistent surf then Sosua is the place for you.
If you want an active fun crowd and consistent surf then Cabarete is a better place for you.
