Anyone been to "Swell Surf Camp" in D.R.??« on: March 30 2010 22:03:00 »
There is so much advertising for this Swell Surf Camp - has anyone actually been there? Is it any good? We are long boarders and want to go to a solid establishment for experienced surfers... that has good wave variety for long boarders...
Any feedback or comments??

August is a good time for beginners and intermediates.
When a hurricane passes north it's good for experts, like last year with hurricane Bill when we had sunny weather and double over head waves here in Cabarete.

I wanted to stay at Swell at the end of May but they have no more spaces then.
Is there a similar place in Cabarete?
I have never surfed before.

There's Aqualina at Kitebeach which is a decent condo / hotel although no social atmosphere there like in a surf camp.
be warned...don't stay at Extreme hotel, I did, for 2 nights, and then moved out. Place is a dump and falling apart.
have a good holiday.

Swell Surf Camp Rocks.
Stayed there for 3 weeks and I can honestly say it was the best holiday of my life.
Very friendly vibe, and the town of Cabarete is awesome 7 days a week there's pumping nightlife ( if you want that kinda thing).
We went horseriding, waterfall tours, yoga and spinning classes, SUP lesson.
I'll be back!

Been to 2 surf camps in Costa Rica and 1 in Nicaragua, but Swell was by far the best.
Clean rooms, good vibes and super friendly staff

Was there last week: place is fantastic. Superb usable building and excellent staff.
Go to Swell, you will not be disappointed!
