Looking for family-friendly surf destination in Caribbean« on: February 24 2010 08:02:00 »
I want to take a surf trip to somewhere in the Caribbean this March, but I'll have a family in tow (wife and two boys, age 4 and 7).
Can anyone recommend a place that has decent surf (doesn't have to be great), and has a town nearby where my family can do stuff while I'm in the water?
Thanks a lot,

Cabarete is a good surf town with a nice beach and plenty of other activities to do for the wife and kids.
We at Swell Surf camp are pretty much full for March so cannot help you with accommodation but I if you want alternative places to stay , condo's or a hotel, I can provide that for you.

Las Terrenas, Samana Peninsula (http://www.peninsuladesamana.com) may have the right combination for you. The destination offers a large range of excursions and the village with its large european comunity have a very pleasant taste with many good restaurants and bars.
Surf is great and with several beach breaks waits only for you to enjoy them as its a undiscovered surfing destination !
Our school is located on Playa Bonita, in the beachfront hotel Acaya (http://acaya.free.fr/fr/activites.php).
If you're interested in receiving a proposal, please send them an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) with your required dates and copy to us (email@example.com).
March is also a great momento to see the humpback whales that come to reproduce in the Samana Bay.
