We're 3 old farts been surfing since 1962, going with the women to Punta Cana, staying at the Princess Hotel. Where's the closest place to rent a board and surf? Any web sites with local info? Transportation info? Thanks for your time, Don landlocked in Oregon.

I´ve just returned from my honeymoon. I could surf 2-3ft every single day, the wave is very fun, about 50-100ft long, beach break with very little rock spots. There´s a reef on the east side, but it´s about 1-2ft deep during low tides...I wouldn´t recommend, because if get in trouble, there´s no hospitals near by.
Take your own surfboard or longboard. because there´s no rental over there.
The spot is a real paradise!
Go for it! Best Regards

Playa Macao is the only place where you get decent surf. We were there for five days and had consistent good 2' to our last day that was perfect head high with sets about a foot over head high. There was a great little thatch coverd bar right on the beach with the coldest Presidente's on the Island. This is a coconut palm linded little bay and is very picturesque. Have a great trip but you will definately need transportation to get your board there.

I'm planning to go to DR in August and I'm wondering if there are any beaches that have decent waves because I want to learn.

Hey! Im going to punta cana dominican republic in july for my honey moon. Anybody know what the waves are like there? Is there a lot of reef ? Im assuming that the water is warm to cool? If the waves arent that great in that area then are there any other spots not too far? Any info would be greatly appreciated!
