Clouds and overcast , does the sun shine in Ecuador ??« on: September 20 2005 07:09:00 »
This sounds maybe a little silly but i am quite serious.
I'd like to go to Ecuador and stay there for maybe six months
because the country is cheap to live.
My problem is, i have the feeling the coast is always clouded (overcast) . Lonely planet says: "Coastal Ecuador is quite cloudy most of the time".
Sofar all pictures i found on the internet are with grey skies.
You now after a while i need some blue skies or i get really depressed.
Can anyone tell me how it really is please.
Thanks in advance.

There are a little bit under 200 days of sunshine a year here in Ecuador. Sun is best from January through May.

Come from November until May , or December until June, the best time, lots of waves, bue skies, and warm water.... it usually rains at night, so you won't get depressed
