El Salvadore East side or West?« on: May 05 2015 05:05:00 »
Heading down to El Salvadore late July. What side will i score the most consistent surf?
People tell me the east side is less consistent. Is that true?

Just got back from El Salvador and have been there 3x prior. East El Salvador (AKA las Flores) is really about Punta Mango. Its by far the best wave down there and most guys take a Panga boat to get to it. The wave is very consistent and picks up swell, but it has gotten really crowded over the years. Last week there were 30 guys out!! Las Flores is a soft right sand point that is super fun on a bigger swell but really works on a low tide. It can be infested with kooks who really can get in the way. There are other points there but they are fickle. West El Salvador has way more surf spots. Punta Roca is the best one, but very localized and the paddle out sucks with the rocks and urchins. El Salvador is a very consistent place and you almost always can find waves to surf. Hope that helps.
