I'm traveling to el salvador with 3 buddies of mine in late march and early april. we are renting a car and plan on traveling up and down the coast. can anyone give me a list of some cheap places to stay that are nice and safe. we're trying to keep costs as low as possible. we are all good surfers, and will not make fools out of ourselves.

El Sal has great surf and tonnes of good local riders, be respectful and catch first light sessions before the crowds. I have only surfed Sunzal area, and if you drive the access road to the Punta Roca hotel there are tonnes of cheap places on that strip, with cheap local food, burgers etc. Same with most the other spots just drive to the break and they are there.

i will be in la libertad in the middle of august for two weeks and am looking for a travel partner as well as a cheap place to stay. anyone know a a hotel, hostel, or private home that isnt too much money. i am from socal and will be travelling with a buddy from hawaii, we both have been surfing for over ten years and are well travelled which means we have great respect for locals.
