The best is Las Flores surf camp, but expect the price to meet quality. They only sell packages. There are some other small ones like Miraflores, Vladimir's place and couple of other fisherman's houses. Alternativly you could stay at El Cuco, but only if the others are not available.

Not a big fan of the Las Flores surf camp run by Wavehunters (and it is likely not in the budget for someone originally looking to stay with a local family). Try the Bella Vista. It is a four room hotel and restaurant right on the point, cool people (including all the locals when I was there). Not sure if they have a website or not. Take a look at the Low Pressure website travel page for El Salvador and they have info on the Bella Vista. Flores is a great wave, but a bit crowded because of the Wavehunters place. Other options are in El Cuco about 10 minutes away.

Also, should be able to get Bella Vista cheaper than shown on the Low Pressure site if you book directly.

You can also try Mira Flores Hotel managed by epic surfing adventures. It overlooks the Las Flores break and the rates are affordable. epicsurfingadventures.com

If you land in Cuayipepe, taxi to Los Coyotes Camp, I'll be glad to set you up with tent cabin (running water and small fridge); one can walk or taxi to El Cuco (el chaco), dependable right and left beachbreaks. Web: firstname.lastname@example.org

Check out Azul Surf Club.... They have a brand new hotel with a beach break in front and it is very close to the points. They're also helping out the community. It's a great spot...

Just got back from Las Flores and I don't recmd staying in El Cuco (potentially dangerous). We had beers in a bar there in the middle of the day and 4 teenagers approached our table and tried to rob us. Luckily they didn't have weapons and we got rid of them. If you don't mind not having AC stay in the spot right next to Las Flores Surf Club. Its $15 per night and you can always buy meals at LFSC when you want. I believe they have a boat for Punta Mango. Avoid going into town... Especially at night. The Las Flores beach is empty and you won't have any problems.

I stayed at Vladimir's place last summer for about a week and had a kick ass time. It is a short walk down the hill to the break and completely safe. It is reasonably priced and they are super friendly. Hope you have a great time...it is one the my favorite places!!
