MIZATA - Best Surf in ES« on: June 21 2007 15:06:00 »
I just finished travelling all through El Salvador and I have to say that I enjoyed Mizata the most by far. Not only was there a selection of perfect waves, but the waves were completely uncrowded. There were only two people out surfing the 4 days that I was there and the vibe was totally mellow. Edgar the surf lodge owner was one of friendliest people I've met in the water in all of El Salvador. While the wave at La Libertad (Punta Roca) is for sure the best in the country, the vibe and the area was just way to sketchy for my liking, plus the water was polluted as all hell.

This message sounds like a prank to me and is contradictory why would you title Mizata best surf in ES and then say that Punta Roca is the best wave in the country? Anyway, I have been living here in ES for little over a year. Punta Roca has opened 2 new large police stations to help with any security issues the beach may have had in the past. Also, since I have been surfing there I have never heard of anyone getting sick due to polluted water. Not to take anything from Mizata because it is a good wave, I just hate to hear anyone bashing any beaches in ES especially one a as sick as Punta Roca. Jerry Lewis pffff ya right...

good plan on punta mango - East Salvador
Housing at two minutes from the spot.
I'm back from Punta Mango and it's a great spot where you can surf alone!
Rent your house directly on the spot (10$ a night). And more operate the local market.
The road is good and the locals are very welcoming. No crime and vegetation is lush. Hiking, horse riding, local produce .... people offer many services.

Mizata is a great place to stay, there are too different surf hotel in the area, one is just opened a few months ago where you can get a room righ infront of the wave, the surf is very consistence and what I like is that it was separated from other spots and you can surf by yourself, nobody in the water, for people that is traveling I suggest you a few website, first http://www.surfestravel.com and then to find a resort in mizata http://www.mizatapointresort.com travel safe and enjoy surf
