Where to surf close to Patrington, HULL?

I want to know where I can surf nearby Patrington, Hull. And how far is it?

closest & not bad on its day would be Barmston (but you'll be lonely). You'll need mid-tide with NE groundswell & offshore light winds.
If it's onshore go up to Filey & surf in the shelter of the bay.

Withernsea I have tried only once!!
Couldn't get a long enough ride cos of the bloody sea defences!! Got to admit tho, it's pretty steep on its day!!

hay yo chris , steep isnt the word ,wow those waves are killers, the ride is short.watching the locals, they  like it about half way out on the down, when it starts breaking on the tall posts

Not really into the steep drop & hellraising stuff anymore!! Much prefer a nice smooth ride nowadays!!
