hey a ozzy also from surfers paradise gold coast ..i been living in london for 1 year working my butt off to save to have a year off surfing round the world in 07 and i would recomend bringing your board as they are so expensive here and the second hand ones are not good..think of the worst boards on the racks at cash converters at mermaid beach and u get the drift..made the mistake of leaving my nev at home at surfers paradise thinking i would get a deal luck..EVERYTHING is so expensive here including sufrboards..its along way to fly home to get your board..get some insurance for it and pad it well..good news is that ryan air fly very cheap to france and spain , portugal where the sun is out and its reasably cheap and the  surf is world class
