yanuca island surf camps« on: April 17 2007 13:04:00 »
hi could anyone tell us if Penas Surf Camp is still in operation as last time I was there was in 2000. If not do you know another place to stay on Yanuca which is relatively cheap. Please let me know how to get information or if you have any numbers. thanks

I was last in fiji in November 06 and at that point Penna was no longer in business on the island. There were still two camps running on the island. At that time the American owned camp was having legal problems with the local village (So i don't know if they are still there). Leaving the other camp witch i stayed in. It was more expensive than penna's (130FJDS all inclusive a night) but i found it to be a better run and nicer place. I will be staying there in the future. Now I sorry i can't for the life of me remember the name of the place, but i have a card somewhere here at home so i will hunt it down and add another post.... When will you be in Fiji?

I was in Fiji in June 2000 when the coup took place and stayed at Yanuca. gutted if that place has closed nad jeez the price seems to have increased incredibly. However no matter where you go in Fiji (especially cove side) you will have good times and good surf. What a beautiful place - Enjoy.

Yeah, 130FJD includes all food witch was more than you could ever eat. Beer and soft drink not included. Also included is the daily boat trips to the break, The only other expense was the transfer from the island, apx 20FJD each way...
