i will be staying at the shang-ri la hotel and want to find a wave for an intermediate surfer. any ideas?

I have stayed at the shangrila a few times. Most breaks on the main land  are unreliable. Better off jumping on a plane and heading over to Nagigia!

if you are good enough to go out by boat to reef break, check Rendezvous surf camp.

catch a cab from shangrila to 'sea shell@momi' then you pay 50fjd to go out on the boat for the morning,make sure you get there by 6:45am as boat leaves around 7am, best phoning them 1st....

Just came back from there and had a go at the right hand point across the lagoon - 3 KM return paddle as we did or $20F boat ride.  Lots of potential, north swell would be best.  Southerly winds bugger it up
