Vanua Levu... any surf? Surfing Fiji

Are there any breaks on the second largest island in Fiji, Vanua Levu? If so where are they.

There is some surf but its not as good as viti levu. I have spent plenty of time on tavauni (small island off vanua) and seen some breaks but dont go out cause i know how many sharks are there. Ive been surfing for 15 years and never worry about sharks but this area is where they film tiger shark documentaries. I have been told some horror shark attacks in this area by locals. I went diving there (somosomo straits) and theres was a shit load of sharks. Therefore i wouldnt spend much time surfing in this area. 1 -cause of sharks and 2. cause the waves are worth the risk.
I would just spend an extra couple of days in nadi and go surf the main breaks there. They go off !!!!!

MMM thanks, my family has a bach, thats why i enquired but I will stay well clear of taveuni. I have also heard of some pretty bad shark attacks off the coast around taveuni. Thanks again.
