Are there any breaks on the second largest island in Fiji, Vanua Levu? If so where are they. |

There is some surf but its not as good as viti levu. I have spent plenty of time on tavauni (small island off vanua) and seen some breaks but dont go out cause i know how many sharks are there. Ive been surfing for 15 years and never worry about sharks but this area is where they film tiger shark documentaries. I have been told some horror shark attacks in this area by locals. I went diving there (somosomo straits) and theres was a shit load of sharks. Therefore i wouldnt spend much time surfing in this area. 1 -cause of sharks and 2. cause the waves are worth the risk.

MMM thanks, my family has a bach, thats why i enquired but I will stay well clear of taveuni. I have also heard of some pretty bad shark attacks off the coast around taveuni. Thanks again. |
