Staying at Naviti, Fiji, Is there any surf close Surfing Fiji

My husband, myself and 2 kids are going to Naviti resort Fiji an April.  Is it worth him taking his board, whats the cost of getting out to the waves.

Where is that located, which island? what's the nearest city?

the naviti is on the coral coast. i am also interest on the surfing possibilities nearby. i know about hideaways but i was hoping for some lefts as well.

yeah i have checked the surf guides out. they only suggest hideaways. does anyone know of any other breaks???????

is there any way of getting a boat out to the surf spots from the naviti?????

I have done some research and it seem like the closest break to Naviti Resort is Hideways. Apparently Waidroka resort takes boats out to Pipe, Frigates and a few local breaks but it's about an hour away from Naviti resort.

From Naviti resort, surf break in front of Hidaway is the closest.

Other option is Waidoroka resort, Sigatoka sand dune or Rendezvous beach resort.

Just came back from the Naviti resort and managed to get some great waves at Frigates. Waidroka resort is about 40 minutes away by road and it's another hour by boat from there. It was a bit of a mission but well worth it. The guys at Waidroka were really good to deal with and seemed to know what they were doing. Checked Hideaway twice (only 10 minutes away) but it wasn't really doing it.

Some really nice waves we saw were straight out the front of our resort but the locals told us that it was too shallow to surf. Had a close look by boat and it looked pretty narly so didn't take the risk. Maybe good for a lid or something.
