I need suggestions/Tips/Friendly Opinions

Hey guys,

1st: I will be flying to Paris from 12/12/2013-12/20/2013. Any tips on how to get to the west coast?
Best transportation: Train, bus, or rental?
What would be the most efficient way, and which would be the most cost effective?

2nd: I've been surfing on and off since 2009 and need tips on where are good locations to surf on the west coast of France for a lower intermediate surfer. I have surfed up to 15ft waves, but since I live in chicago now, I am not too accustom to that anymore. So, maybe some fun sized waves in the neighborhoods of 3-8fters (face measurement).

3rd: Since it cost nearly as much to buy a surfboard to fly one out there, where can I buy a decent used board while in France? And how thick of a wetsuit do you suggest I bring for France's winter sessions?

Any other suggestions/tips will be appreciated!
