Spots in Normandy/Brittany

I was wondering if anyone knows about some alright spots in Normandy or Brittany. I'm an exchange student from north Fla living in Bonn, Germany and it takes me like 3-4 hours to get to Paris. I planned a trip to Spain for our week-long break, but as for the weekends, Basque country is too far. The sun's finally shining and it's making me miss the beach- Help!

Also, how much does it usually cost to rent a board around Zarautz? My brother's flying in to meet me, and he's wondering if it would be worth it to bring our boards on the plane. Of course I'd prefer one of my own, but I don't know how much hassel it'd be bringing it on trains and shit.

Renting a board should be between 5 and 10 euros an hour, but you'll get a deal if you take one for the whole day.
It's no hassle to go to the Basque country for weekends....Air Berlin do flights from Koln to Bilbao. You just have to book well in advance to get a good deal.
Seek and you shall find!!
