Don't forget you'll end up in the basque country so be respecfull and you'll be respected as any where else! But don't forget that we have 3 major sport activities:
1.surf, 2. Rugby 3. kiking english speaking buts!

ONGI ETTORI ! (Welcom in basque!)

Surfing being the No. 1 sport ? When was the last time a French surfer won a world title ? You'll be fine Gerald the rules that apply to surfing are usually universal. However  if you prefer not to get dropped in on in France I suggest take up playing rugby.

Really enjoyed Biarritz. Was on a backpacker trip, so didn't have a car and didn't mind walking a little or taking the bus. Though I speak french...

yo,

there is no problem surfing here at ALL!!! if you make sure you're better than average...you will be fine...most of the brakes are wide and so you can find your own spot! if you meet a maroccan guy (karim) who is quite good (surfs for quicksilver)...make sure you drop in on him, at least twices, and tell him the dutch (Nils, friend of Eddy) says Hi...have fun man...

ciao
