Looking for Sweet Spot

« on: March 01 2005 22:03:00 »

My wife and I will be travelling to South France the 1st week of June in seach of a decent long boarding wave, aloha spirit, and a reasonably priced bungalow.  Does anybody have any suggestions?  Thanks.

You could try Contis Plage in Les Landes. It's just south of Mimizan, but about half way between Bordeaux and Biarritz, so does not get much of a crowd, even in summer. There's a mix of short and long boards in the water, and people stay mellow. There are also semi-deserted beaches close by, and some good cafes in the village.

You'd need to search around to find lodging -- I don't know the prices, but they will be less expensive than in Pays Basque. Good luck.
