Warm enough to surf wetsuit-free in Gironde in May/June?« on: March 19 2005 05:03:00 »
I have a bit of a problem in that I'm allergic to wetsuits so can't wear them. I'm thinking about going to a surfing holiday to the Gironde at the end of May/beginning of June but would be really grateful if someone can tell me if the water will be warm enough to surf in just a bikini and rashie? I've only been before in August and it was fine then, but not sure if it'll have warmed up enough earlier in the season...

You should be OK ifrom late morning through early afternoons, when the wind is offshore. You may find yourself having a shorter session than usual, especially if you go out when conditions are not so good. However, I think it's worth doing. I usually wear a spring suit in June but I've gotten very spoilt over the years.
