what's the quality/consistency of Biarritz surf in mid-May?

« on: April 09 2005 16:04:00 »

I am considering going to Biarritz for a week in the middle of May.  How consistent is the surf then?  How are the winds? Crowds? Quality of surf?  Wave size?  Water temp?  Thanks for any insights you can provide!

in the middle of may the consistency of swell will be good, although the water will be cold and the wind may be a problem. So you better wake up early or look forward to some evening sessions. But its definitely a very good time cause there won't be any crowds (tourists or travelers) and "only" some friendly french locals will be in the water. This is the reason why you may have some exceptional days in guethary or in lafitenia near biarritz.
