Camping near Bordeaux« on: August 14 2007 15:08:00 »
Am planning on spending a long week surfing around Bordeaux and wondered if anyone knew of a decent place to camp that isn't too packed, but isn't totally dead either. Happy with budget/not many facilities.
If you also know of any hidden amazing places to eat/farmhouses that do super lush food, then please let me know that too. I intend to establish a continual loop of surfing and eating while I'm away.

Just got back from a trip along west coast. If you don't like crowds stay clear of lacanau. i stayed 12km north in a place called caucans, waves are just as good with way less people. Awesome campsite there in the forest about 500m from the beach.

Brilliant, thanks for that, don't suppose you can remember what the campsite was called?

I can't remember the name but its the only one in the town.We were there high season and hadn't booked but still had no problem gettin a site. There are two towns though, caucans (which is inland about 10km) and caucans la plage which is right on the sea. Cool little town, hope you get he waves
