France 2009 surf and work?

« on: May 15 2009 13:05:00 »

Hey! :)
I'm a guy (20) from the Czech Rep (no sea-no waves :/ .) and I was wondering if I could get any tips on finding a cheap place to stay, renting a board or finding a summer-job anywhere on the S-W beaches of France. I am a surfer beginner (I've done some windsurfing in the past, but that doesn't really count, I guess ,) and I speak English and a little French. I will be staying there from the mid-June till the mid September, so if you wanned to meet up or even share some place to crush just let me know! :)
Thanks a lot for your tips!

head to biarritz because its a big place and right on the sea.
just go from bar to bar, asking until you find a job. many people do this every summer and employers expect it. take enough money to live for a week or so until you find a job.
maybe better to buy a cheap surfboard to learn on, it might be cheaper than renting in the end. same with a wetsuit.

good luck
