SW France/Portugal September-ish

« on: July 21 2009 19:07:00 »

Hello hello! I've been considering planning a trip to the SW coast of France & some of Portugal sometime in September. Dates are flexible & I was wondering if anybody would be interested in joining. I've just started doing the research, so I don't have a clear idea of what I'd like to do. Not sure if train tavel is an option, or if it's much better to get a car/van. I'm 24 years old & from Ventura, CA. Get back to me if you're interested... or leave some advice please!

HEy guys , just started scanning this site for some info on best surf trips during september to december, and love to see all these posts.
Im very down to hit up south of france as i speak fluent french, been traveling to paris twice a year for 10 years and never got a chance to train down. Im 20 from Toronto, Canada, and working like a dog at the bars in wasaga beach for the summer. Saving as much cash and 100% interested. Biarritz was one of my top choices!!

So is anyone interested in this trip at this time? i will be traveling alone from paris and would love to hear some feedback on some possible lodging and flats that i could look into for october to december.
i am looking to surf and work if necessary at a nearby restaurant or bar.

Im an Aussie living in Holland atm, and am flying to Santander then thinking of hiring a car at Bilbao and getting to Hossegor around the 26th. Im keen to spend a few days checking out the Tour and surfing. Am still looking for accommodation but most cheap options camping (cabin) are for 4ppl. Anyone interested? or joining me from Bilbao?

hi ryan,
im from sydney , OZ , but i spent 3 seasons travelling around the SW france/spain/portugal. by far the perfect time is september / october.
YOU HAVE TO GET STORMRIDER GUIDE EUROPE!! surf guide/book essential for finding spots etc.....priceless.
and i'd say forget the train, you need wheels, a van is perfect to keep accomoation costs down and so flexible.
this part of europe is as good as anywhere for a surf trip. heavy reefs, beachies and point breaks and culture varies everywhere you go....its awesome
