solo surf trip« on: September 18 2007 19:09:00 »
I'm leaving on a solo surf trip around the world. I leave exactly one year from now. Just planning the countries I am going to. October 08...Leave from Santa Cruz ca. fly to New Zealand then Indonesia (not Bali been there done that) mentawais somewhere, sell my boards or ship them to Cape Town land trek India and Nepal and who knows where else the wind will take me the land trek won't be more than a month. Fly to cape Town and my last spot is Brazil the Sao Paola beaches, and fly home total time at least 6 months or when $$$ runs out. Any comments would be appreciated.
I know Brazil real well and have places to stay in South Africa, the rest is up in the air. I'm a 53 (youch) year old short boarder and want the trip before I'm too old to still rip and not R.I.P.

thanks for the post. catch great waves and enjoy your trip. I don't leave for a year as I am waiting for my son to graduate from college and he will run my business while I'm gone. Planning a 6 monther, but probably won't make it to europe unless the $$$ hold out. Keep in toch and let me know how things go. Thanks again for honesty cause in here things get pretty weird!

I want to take a seperate trip to ausi-land with my son someday so I left that country out. It was either there or New Zealand I think New Zealand will be lass crowded and It's a place I've always wanted to go, Where do you live? Gold coast or ? I do love the ausi humor and everyone I've ever met there and on my travels has been an aweswome, funny, paryting, and easy to befriend person. Catch a glassy long cover-up for me won't ya and dring a Fosters while you're at it. Ric from Santa Cruz Ca.
