The Perfect Surf Vacation?« on: November 23 2007 10:11:00 »
Just looking for some advice on where, when, and how I could go on the perfect surfing vacation. I want warm water, constant swell, sun, surf breaks within walking distance of the hotel/camping area/ cheap place to stay. And of course a place with a nightlife. I am a college graduate student and don't have a lot of $$$. Basically I would like to hear your story's about your best vacation ever, or simply a location that you live in and where life is heaven!
Mine deals with a school year in Hawaii... being able to surf everyday! I've got that urge!!!

The Outer Banks of NC. 30-60 miles out to sea from mainland. 180 miles of Barrier Islands, with golden sand and an array of different kinds of consistent surf. Anywhere on Hatterous Island is prime surfing. Avilon, Salvo, Waves. This is where the surf hits first on the east coast, so the waves are alot more powerful and have more size. Best time to go would be in Late August, September through March.

You couldn't have given me a better answer, thats where we are going.... but in mid-March
What is the water temp like then? What wetsuit should I bring? Is there good snorkeling?
Did my friends put you up to this?
