I'm thinking of heading to sumatra (krui direction) - but the only post I found seem to slag each and everyone off in the area. Can anyone give me some positive feedback without the f-ing and blinding please! Thanks, Wizzy

Yeah its a great surf area. The main town is krui, but many of the waves arent in Krui it self - so be aware of that. You'll no doubt get more surf in the "on season" (April-Oct) and the winds are better then too (offshore). The "off season" winds tend to put people off heading that way - but its not a true reflection of what to expect. The wave at Karang Nyimbor (Ujung Bocur) is more north facing so can handle a bit of a south westerly no worries. There's waves about 45mins north of Krui - at a place called Jennys right (drews right) which basically faces the opposite direction to karang - so its offshore in the off season. Plus its usually glassy in the morning in the off season too. Worth checking out...
