Surfing in Accra, Ghana« on: May 21 2012 07:05:00 »
Seems like I'll probably leave with my wife and kids to Accra in the end of the year as I got to work there. I just wonder if it is really possible to surf at Accra beach itself... as a skateboarder I'd love to learn to surf, and this could be my once in a lifetime chance to do it - what do you think? Is it ok to bring board and wetsuit along? And are there locals surfing? Also, I'd like to bring my Skateboard along - I'm not that good a skater, but I work in youth welfare momentarily and love to teach children to skate... I read something about a "Cowbell Ramp" in Accra - do you know if this one is still existent and in good condition? I'd appreciate your answer, have a good time,

For skateboarding in Accra Accra National Theatre is very good, you have very long marble ledge, 2 stairs, 5 stairs, 8-10 stairs, small trench & wall gap.... very good street spot for W Africa.... :)
For surfing Kokrobite is ok, but water is dirty. :)
