Just arrived in Accra

« on: April 10 2007 00:04:00 »

Hi Guy,

I arrived in Accra Monday 9th of April and as I brought my surfboard (6' 2") I expect to have some surf here. I was wondering if someone could eventually show me around some spots? We are staying in Accra but we have a car. In addition I do have some extra questions :

How is the surf at this period of the year?
Is it true that the current is very strong? If yes, is it for the whole coast of just some spots?

I'm just up the coast in Lagos (Nigeria) and the currents are very strong so be careful. Big problem with rips but main issue is locals can't swim. Tried surfing here but lack of decent waves plus terrible pollution put us off in the end. Water nice and warm but stinks of gasoline!! Pretty sure in Accra you'll be ok so have fun

Cheers mate! Sorry to ear that you had not a good experience in nigeria.

I probably will try Busua Beach, then. I've read some good reviews about this spot.

Keep surfing
