Waikiki - Whats the surf like

« on: December 20 2004 20:12:00 »

I'm an intermediate surfer in Australia. Which makes me a kook (Beginner) in Hawaii. I'm going to be at Waikiki around March/April 05.

What can I expect surf wise and what kind of board will I need? Should I bring my own or should I hire?

Any help would be awesome!

Hey dude, you'll want to check out Ala Moana, Kaisers, and breaks around diamond head like Cromwells and Black point. Also, check out surfline.com's travel section. You'll need a fish of thruster btwn 6'2" and 6'4". later on, have a blast.
