Kauai in August

« on: August 10 2006 18:08:00 »

Any suggestions for beginner surfing- August in Kauai?
Thing is, I'm better than beginner.  I don't want Waikiki.  I'm looking for nice 3-4 footers.  I'm just learning to stand up while on the wave, so anything much more than 5 foot and I'll be eating coral!  Last time I surfed was Tamarindo in Costa Rica.  It was a real nice size for me, but there was way too much competition for the waves.

I was wondering the same thing. Are there good spots that aren't super crowded in August?
