Help!- Oahu novice surf spots« on: May 26 2007 17:05:00 »
I'm a Canadian sailing over to Oahu in the summer end of July. I have surfed a few times before here in Canada although i am still a novice ( ride a 7'2 hybrid). I was wondering if someone could let me know of a good spot that isn't crowded where i could learn to ride a short board and grasp some skills. I will be there for about 3-4 months and i am also interesting in learning about the local culture. I'm hoping i can find a spot not crowded so i don't get in anyone's way. I will be staying near waimanalo so near there would be even better ( i'll be hitching and biking). Also i am bringing a tent and was wondering if any one knows of any beaches in which "unoffical" camping is allowed. I know this is alot to ask and any help is much appreciated.
