Inside track for you, brah. Take your stick to Pu'u O'o and slide all day long, no locals beating you for your place in the lineup. It's HOT, brah, no lie!! It's been pumpin' since July and you will have the place all to yourself. Don't thank me now, just hop on it!!

If you don't want to drive and search out surf plan to surf in a crowd and beg for scraps. If you are willing to drive and are on top of your weather/swell/tide game you could have a memorable winter. It's hit or miss though, and really the guys that get surf consistantly are about as on it as anyone anywhere- working the phone a lot and driving, willing to be on it at a drop of a hat.
Otherwise it's pretty much hit or miss on the big island. Except for that one spot that never gets named- that's about the most consistent spot around but I won't even hint at the swell direction or nothing. Good people over there. Find it yourself. Aloha
