Spots near Kapa'a Kauai june/july?

« on: March 15 2008 12:03:00 »

I'm gonna be in Kapa'a for 6 weeks this summer from mid june to the end of july. My girlfriend and I are going and are looking for intermediate/beginner preferably. Also, does anyone know about rentals/surf shops in Kapa'a? Thanks

Wailua rivermouth and sandbar always have trade swell and morning glass; ez boogie-board and longboard; occassional small sharks at channel, surrounded by palms; go north to Anahola beachbreak for 1-3' beginner, but bring gifts to locals and you may snag a few  set waves in an environment out of 'South Pacific'!

Thanks a lot. What do you think about Kealia and Donkey beach? I heard they were pretty sick.

Ha, Drealocks, not enuf' trades and not enuf' groundswell this time of year- go south to Acid Drops and Poipu; just give locals wide berth. ps, can always get air-dropped off NaPali (like Iron's bros. do) and catch shorepound blue barrels in the 'Land of Kong'.
