Yeh the back waters of Kerala were beautiful. The surf was big but was closing out pretty quick. Haven't had time to go further south but am back at Palolem beach and it is simiar to Varkala, might clean up this arvo though. Will have to come back to India to see further south

RE: getting a board

This is of no use to you but may be interesting. In 1967 2 of us Aussies left our boards at the Salvation Army in Bombay (Moombi) because we couldn't carry them on our overland trip to London. The were brand new and would be collectors items now. They were used in Kenya, and  Seychelles were of the brand name Baron and were shaped in South Africa by Stork Holmes the guru of the day in shaping. Give them a ring they might still be there !

far out! Was in Mumbai a few days ago but now out east in the desert. May head back there later this year so will give them a buzz. Did you get good waves back then?

RE: getting a board

not much of a wave around( Mumbi, Moombi ?) conditions were onshore and we were in a hurry to start our epic trip to London. Had some good surf in Kenya at Malindi and Of course Seychelles although we had to wait for some storm swell, but the waters were the cleanest I had ever seen. I could see the hairs on my toes it was that clear. I couldn't stand to go back to the Seychelles as I know what they did to it.We did a story on our" East African Surfari" hoping to flog the story to Surfer Mag but the camera half framed all the shots and were not useable.
