Is Varkala(Kerala- India) good for surfing????

Hi buddies,
I am planning t o travel to Varkala(Kerala, india) soon(Oct- Nov), do you think its really worth attempting it? I heard it a good place for surfing, but I still would like to seek some advices from those who have really enjoyed it. How do you rate it when the total travel is considered? I have booked an accommodation with Mom Lekha's Private Homes, does anyone know this place?
Thanks and best regards

RE: Is Varkala(Kerala- India) good for surfing????

Hi Tamanna I've been living in Varkala during the winters for
about 10 years now. Re surfing - well people do it but I would
not describe it as the world's best location for this activity.
October - November would probably be about the best time to
do it though since the rough seas and very powerful currents
of the monsoon have passed and during december - january
i.e peak season the sea is very calm with just a slight swell
and no breakers. the place is definitely worth a visit and very
easy to get to. You will enjoy it! Haven't heard of Mom Lekha
but I'm sure it's Ok - anyway there are plenty of other places.
have a good time and think about going to Kumily as well.
