Surfing in July: Andaman or Pondicherry?« on: March 21 2011 22:03:00 »
I got one month left in India in July and I definitely want to spend it on surfing. I was in Pondicherry in February and it was ok. People told me there that it should be good in July too.
As I have not been to the Andaman yet, I would prefer going there. Anybody has an idea, how it is there at this time of the year (monsoon, etc...)?!?
Have a good day!

andaman is just epic but way too difficult to access, boat trips are sketchy if you can, just do it

Anybody knows about the monsoon conditions in july in both places? also regarding to the swells...
I am not looking for big waves, 2-4 feet would be fine.

march and april are the best months to travel to the andamans, even tough its not that big, approx average 3-4ft day. good consistency tough, about 70% of the month.
be sure to visit little andaman, Kumari point is worth the long travel. take precautions, its malaria f**king infested

Hi, thanks for that.
So I wont go to the Andaman for surfing in July.
Has anybody got another recommendation for surfing in India in JULY? I am looking rather for smaller and clean waves than the big ones...
I am happy for any help!!

So, July is fast approaching and am making my way to India. Have you, in the end, found where would be the best place to get a few waves? Coming from Sri Lanka and not sure if I want to make a surfing stop in the south or just head to the mountains...Not looking for incredible waves, but surfing India would be different.
