A Balinese true story

« on: March 31 2011 18:03:00 »

To save money and for the exercise, I usually paddle out to Kuta Reef from the beach at the end of Poppies Gang II, on my 7.0 Erie Peeples wave snatcher from New Smirna, Florida.  One time, as I was making the long paddle, something latched on to my leash and started dragging me and my 7 foot board backwards through the water.  I was being pulled backwards despite the fact that I was paddling forward.  I didn't panic until the tail of my board started to be pulled down under the water.  That's when I decided to risk reaching down to undo the leash from around my ankle when whatever it was that had me let go!  Whew!
Just my luck to have that happen.  It's enough to make a grown man pay the locals for a catamaran ride out to Kuta reef.  :)
