Hey Rico, I've been in indo on july 2007(my first time and I surfed only on high tide) and 2010 (I got heaps good barrels in Nias, Asu and lakey peake-Sumbawa) and I went to Bali, Nias, Sumbawa (lakey peak) and Nusa lembongan.Surfing in indo is dangerous only on low tide, high tide is so fun I had some good wipeouts when I first went to indo and nothing happens on high tide...I don't know about spots without reefs, but balangan beach in Bali, is easy waves , surf uluwatu is so funny at outside corner and you can get some easy barrels on inside corner.

Go to Nias island, I am sure you will get at least 10 perfect waves by surf session. And also go to ASU ISLANDS you will probably surf with only 10 guys in the water. Go to sumbawa(Lakey peak) but you gotta have lucky, on july winds blow up. cheers and have a awesome trip!!!!
