Bali to Padang ...

Hey there,

Does anyone know if you can quite easily and not too expensively travel from Bali to Padang in Sumatra by plane... I have been told that you could get return flights for around 200 AUD but the net only starts at around 800 which is way more than I budgeted for... Im not there yet and I have heard that the you just do it once you get there with a local travel agent... can anyone confirm this? 800 from Bali (through Jakarta) seems pretty heavy.

RE: Bali to Padang ...

Go have a look on Lion air website or tiket2.com, don't know where you got $800 from?

Book domestic flights in Indonesian from a travel agent in a western country and maybe you will pay that much?

Bali-Jakarta on a good day averages around Rp300,000 to Rp 500,000 ($30-$50)

Jakarta-Padang on a good day averages around Rp500,000 to 1.5 juta or more($50-$150)

$200 one way is more realistic you would be pretty lucky to get $200 return, maybe if you had heaps of time to wait for cheapest fights.

Prices go up and down heaps though, depending on time of year, day of the week, time of day, and when you book/buy.
