Reasonable surf shops in Kuta area?« on: June 05 2013 19:06:00 »
I plan on going to Bali in July and I was looking for some recommendations for a good surf shop to buy a used surfboard at in the Bali area. I couldn't justify the cost of bringing my own boards, so I was planning on buying a second hand one. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

There are tons of surf shops in Kuta and most of them rent / sell used and new boards.
They will most likely try to upsell their stock, but there's always room for negotiations, so the price you get may depend on your skills in that department. From what I gathered today, I was able to knock a few hundred Ks off the price and they would throw in leash and fins. Most of them will buy the boards back for 40%-50% of what you paid, which is much cheaper than renting everyday if you stay here long enough.
Sorry I can't help you with shop names, but give yourself a day to walk and shop around and I'm sure you'll find something nice.
